Meeting Privacy Buddy — Chrome Extension

1. What the extension does

Meeting Privacy Buddy automatically hides your browser tab titles when you join a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams video call. This prevents other participants from reading your tab titles when you share your screen. It can also hide your ChatGPT conversation history in the sidebar.

2. Data we collect

None. The extension does not collect any personal information or browsing data from you.

3. Data processed locally

To function correctly, the extension reads the following information entirely within your browser:

• Tab URLs — to detect whether you have joined a meeting on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
• Tab titles — to temporarily replace them with a dot character and restore them after the meeting ends.

This information is held in temporary session storage (chrome.storage.session) that is automatically cleared when you close the browser. It is never sent to any server, API, or third party.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties — for any reason.

5. Permissions explained

• tabs — read tab URLs to detect meetings and read tab titles to hide/restore them.
• scripting — inject a small local script into tabs to change the visible page title.
• storage — save the extension state (which tabs are hidden) in temporary session storage so it survives background service worker restarts.
• host permissions (all URLs) — needed to hide titles on tabs from any website, not just a predefined list.

6. Third-party services

The extension does not use any analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry services.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. The extension itself does not auto-update policies — you can review this page at any time.
